Dr. Daniel Wiessner, OD

Dr. Danny is a 2014 graduate of Pacific University College of Optometry.

Being born and raised here in Walla Walla, Dr. Danny’s formative years involved holding first-chair trumpet at WA-HI, frequenting the old Tilt arcade in the Blue Mountain Mall, hanging out with friends at Coffee Perk downtown, and providing piano and vocals for the church worship band. Family, faith, music and technology were his foundation, and those carry through just as strongly today. He graduated from WA-HI in 2004 and set out for Pacific Lutheran University where he achieved a Bachelor of Science in Biology while continuing his worship band position on campus. After PLU, Danny attended the four-year graduate program at Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, OR, with clinical rotations through Virginia, Wyoming, Pennsylvania, and Nevada. Having graduated in 2014, he is overjoyed to finally be back home.

Danny met his wife, Tori, at PLU and the two welcomed their two boys in 2014 and 2016 and then a baby girl in each of 2020 and 2023. You may have seen both Tori and kiddos roaming around Providence Saint Mary Medical Center when Tori was the lead volunteer nurse at the Milk Bank there. More recently, Tori has been volunteering her nursing expertise at the Walla Walla Senior Center’s Adult Day Center.

In addition to practicing general optometry, Dr. Danny had the privilege of working with one of the premier doctors of dry eye care in the nation and is excited to bring that dry eye specialty back to to the valley. If you have any particular questions or interest in the pursuit of dry eye treatment – be it Restasis or Xiidra, Omega-3s for meibomian gland dysfunction, scleral lenses for Sjogren’s disease, or anything else – please be sure to mention it to him when you come in!
